Foldable Coffee Table as an Amalgamation of 3 Cultures

室内设计,清华大学,大三作业
Foldable octagonal table with switchable table tops with a choice from round, square, and octagon.
The project requirements were: a foldable peice of furniture that is lightweight, constructed with eco-friendly materials, easy to carry and store. Since it was a group project and the members were from different cultures we realized that the tea and coffee tables in Asian cultures share several structural characteristics. After some guidance from the professor, we decided to add certain patterns that were representative of our respective cultures instead of keeping it completely minimalistic.
